My Gluten - Free Life
I did some research and found several articles on the thyroid and celiac connection. I read several articles about how the protein portion in wheat,the and barley called gliadin resembles that of the thyroid gland. When consuming gluten foods the gliadin enters the bloodstream and the body autoimmunity begin to attack it. At this point the body attacks the thyroid gland as well because it can't tell the difference.
